...just helps keep the car launching straighter, and keeps the HICAS from doing funny things like steering the rear of the car during launch, which is very bad. Additionally, even if the HICAS doesn't try to steer the car, I believe the setup can deflect, and unintentionally steer the rear of the car, thereby hurting the launch. Basically, you want all energy from the launch used to transfer weight rearward and move the car forward, not deflect suspension links and move the car sideways. RSR
